When does it take place?

The Summer Art School 2019 takes place from Monday 8th July – Friday 12th July.

What time does it start and end each day?

Drop off from 10:05 am to 10.15 am. The workshops last until 4pm. Pick up time is from 4:05 pm to 4.15pm. Late pick ups are avaliable by prior arangement.

On Friday 12th July there will be an exhibition of all the work created over the course of the week from 4pm until 4.50pm. All parents/carers, family and friends are welcome to come along and see what the young people have been creating over the course of the week.

How many spaces are there?

We can accommodate 14 young people aged between 10 and 15 years old, and places will be offered on a first come first served basis. Once all spaces are filled we will start a waiting list. If we get sufficient interest we may run a second Summer School over the holiday period.

How much does it cost?

The price for the full week of workshops, all materials and equipment, including daily worksheets to take home and any work at the end of the week is £215. This is payable in full at the time of registration. Your place is only guaranteed once payment has been made in full.

What will my child need to bring to Summer School?

  • A packed lunch, snacks and a refillable water bottle. (We can provide drinking water)
  • Clothing that you do not mind getting messy/dirty, and a change of clothes just in case!
  • Outdoor clothing, shoes and sun cream. At least one of the days we will be working outside and as the Scottish summer is very unpredictable you will need to be prepared for rain or shine.

What will we provide your child with?

  • All the materials, equipment and supplies you will need to complete all the varied workshops.
  • A detailed safety demonstration of all the tools and equipment used in each of the workshops.
  • Hand-outs to take home about the content of your workshop.
  • Drinking water

What if I have my own camera?

We will have cameras which can be used but if you prefer to use you own please bring it along. All we ask is that you bring a cable to upload your images. (Please note that if you do bring any expensive equipment with you, you will need to keep it on you at all times. We do not have anywhere to lock away personal belongings and we can not be held responsible for any items that may be lost, stolen or damaged during the workshops.)

What will we use any photos for?

Over the course of the week we will take photographs of the workshops which will include the young people taking part in the workshops. We will use these photographs in our social media and on our website to promote and advertise further workshops. If you do not wish your photo to be taken please mark this on the registration form.

What if my child can not attend the workshop?

Once you have filled out the registration form and paid in full your place has been secured. If for some reason you are then unable to attend the workshop you must let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone else.

If we manage to fill your place we will refund your money minus a £75 admin fee. It is regrettable that we can not offer a refund if we are unable to fill your place as the venue, materials and equipment have all been paid for in advance.

What if my child has special requirements?

There is a section on the registration form for you to fill out if your child has any special requirements such as allergies, medical conditions and accessibility. We will endeavour to accommodate any special requirements and will discuss with you individually ways in which we can ensure that your child is able to access all elements of the workshops.
